Blush and Bashful
How often do we get dressed up, hire a makeup artist and photographer in our adult life other than during a wedding, baby shower or a funeral? Life is about creating moments, memories, enjoying the journey of life and living on purpose. Some mothers create a grand spectrum for their children's first birthday, as well as fifth, tenth and sometimes 16th and 21st. Why do we ever stop making our birthday very special as we enter into adulthood? I didn't want to wait for another wedding, baby shower or bridal shower to get “all glammed up." I wanted to enjoy it now.
My colors are “ Blush and Bashful.” This classy line is taken from a classic movie called Steel Magnolia. Everyone that knows me, knows that pink is my favorite color, and tutus are my favorite attire to wear. For my 34th birthday, I decided I wanted to have a “ adult smash cake” shoot. So I hired a lovely photographer, K Michelle Photography, LLC. I really loved my pictures, they captured me in my full essence. I also enjoyed the shoot so much! Working with Krystal was like a breath of fresh air. She was accommodating, professional and fun to work with. I love the idea of the chalkboard sign, which had a list of all my favorites things — sangria, margaritas, cookies, cupcakes and Sex and the City.
A dear friend of mine – owner of a small business called The Cupcake and Goodies Gals, made the delicious cake. She made my chocolate cake with yummy pink buttercream and white chocolate ganache. The cake filling was Oreo. And of course, I couldn’t forget my lovely dessert wine Moscato bubbly.
